Program description
Compactor incorporates a 'search & compact files' function, so you can leave the program to search for all files that can be compacted and it will automatically compact them. This search can be carried out on entire drives, or just specific folders. If you prefer, you can just compact specific files, using the compact file option. Whichever method of compacting you choose, when the files have been compacted, you are presented with a file compacting report which shows file details and the amount of space that has been reclaimed. |
What's new
The program now ignores files which have been encrypted by Crypto, Encrypt_It! And FreeCrypt, as compacting encrypted files can damage the file's structure and prevent it from being decrypted. Encryption programs tend to add a special character to the file's name, such as '@' or '&' or '#' and any files with any of these three characters as the first character of the file name will also be ignored. If you use any encryption program other than FreeCrypt or Encrypt_It!, please send me an e-mail daniel@pocketIQ.com giving details of the program and where it can be downloaded from and I will add it to the list of files to ignore. |
